Title

2023 Economic Development Authority Meeting Schedule

Body

SUMMARY AND ACTION REQUESTED:

The proposed meeting dates are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month, with the exception of December.  Please review the proposed schedule and make any desired changes.  A motion to approve Resolution 2023-001 setting the 2023 meeting schedule for the Economic Development Authority.

BACKGROUND:

Article III of the EDA Bylaws states that the Board shall hold regular meetings according to a meeting schedule adopted or revised from time to time by the Board.  Board members should also review the proposed cancellation/discontinuation of a regular December EDA meeting. The Fourth Monday of December tends to be in conflict with the Christmas holiday. Either it lands just before Christmas or the date falls in between the holidays. The November meeting will always take place after Thanksgiving and can serve as the final meeting of the year. This appears to be in-line with the Council's policy direction to not have meetings close to the Christmas holiday.

In addition to regular meetings, a special meeting of the Board may be called by the President or any two (2) members of the Board for the purpose of transacting business designated in the call.  Public written notice of a special EDA meeting must be posted a minimum of three (3) business days prior to the meeting.

RECOMMENDATION:

Approve Resolution 2022-001.
